Beyond the Symptoms: Who is the Person Waiting to Arrive?

In-person in Portland | Virtual across Oregon

You are more than a diagnosis or a set of behaviors. I provide a trauma-informed, deeply relational space for those navigating the heavy, essential questions of life—identity, loss, and the search for meaning.

Whether you are a parent watching your teen struggle with the weight of the world, or an adult navigating a life that no longer fits, we work to move through the overwhelm and uncertainty toward a life that feels authentic and yours.

Stepping Into the Unknown, Together

A lot of therapy focuses on "fixing" what is broken. My work is different. While we attend to symptoms—anxiety, depression, conflict, or the weight of addiction—we treat them as signals rather than errors.

Rooted in an Existential-Humanistic approach, our work is built on four pillars: Freedom, Meaning, Connection, and the Courage to face the unknown. I help you illuminate your authentic values so that your life becomes a reflection of who you actually are, rather than who you were told to be.

This is more than just symptom management. This is an invitation to live with congruence and awe in the face of it all.

Common Points of Entry

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. Whether you are arriving as an individual, a couple, or a family, we look beneath the surface of the struggle to find the pathway through. I specialize in navigating the following experiences:

  • For the ‘existentially restless’ teen or young adult feeling the weight of an uncertain future. We move beyond patronizing ‘fixes’ to explore identity and agency, helping them find their footing in a rapidly changing world that often feels overwhelming.

  • Shifting from paralyzing worry to a sense of grounding. We treat anxiety as a signal—exploring what it is trying to protect and building the internal flexibility needed to move forward even when the path is unwritten

  • Navigating the heavy fog of hopelessness or the realization that a life no longer fits. This work is about reconnecting with your authentic values and uncovering a sense of meaning that feels honest and durable.

  • Moving beyond surface-level conflict to address the patterns of disconnection that keep couples and families stuck. We work to foster a space of radical genuineness, shared meaning, and the courage to be truly seen.

  • Holding space for the 'liminal'—the disorienting gap between what was and what comes next. Whether following a loss, a career shift, or an evolution in the family structure, we work to author a new narrative that honors both your history and your potential.
